Casa Lis. Facade near to the river Casa Lis.

Casa Lis

It was built in 1905 on the wall of Salamanca for the architect Joaquin Vargas Aguirre. The owner was Miguel de Lis and he and his family lived here.
The north front is the better sample of Modernist art in Salamanca.
Stained glass windows of the south front, opposite the river, are very beautiful and they give a great luminosity to the House.
Nowadays Casa Lis is the Museum of Art Noveau and Art Déco. It is possible thanks to antiquarian Manuel Ramos Andrade who gave 19 collections of art objects.
The Museum is one of the most visited museums in Castilla y Leon.
