
The bridge is in the Ruta de la Plata (Route of the Silver). Romans built it in I century. It was the only one in Salamanca until one century ago.
All fifteen arches of the side of the city are of Roman invoice. The remaining ones have had to be reconstructed because in 1626 water broke them.
You can see a stone bull in the bridge. It is a work of the vettones, the people who lived here before the Romans came to Salamanca.
